Power and energy sites handle a mix of fuels and residues — coal, biomass, petcoke, fly ash and gypsum — often with seasonal surges and tight emission limits. SANTO mobile conveyors bring flexible, clean transfer to these demanding plants.
Energy sites receive fuel by rail, barge and truck and must build buffer stockpiles that can be drawn down through peak winter or summer demand. Co-firing biomass with coal adds a second, often dusty and variable, fuel stream that fixed plant is poor at accommodating.
Ash and gypsum by-products must be moved without creating fugitive dust that breaches permit, while confined plant layouts leave little room for permanent conveyors dedicated to a single stream.
A tracked stockpiler builds and reclaims fuel piles beside the bunker, while mobile truck unloaders receive road-delivered biomass or coal and feed directly to belt or pile. Feeder stackers meter blended fuel toward the mill at a controlled rate.
For ash and gypsum, low feeders with sealed transfer keep fine material contained, and the same mobile fleet re-tasks to different by-product streams as the plant schedule dictates.
Biomass and coal vary widely in density and moisture, so size for the heavier coal case (up to 1200 t/h) and confirm belt width suits the lighter, bulkier biomass. Dust suppression and fire-safe design matter where fine, combustible material is handled.
Electric drives are attractive inside plant boundaries where shore power exists; specify sealed bearings and belt cleaners to survive abrasive ash and high duty cycles.
Continuous mobile conveying keeps fuel moving to the bunker even during delivery surges, protecting boiler availability. Reduced double-handling lowers degradation and dust exposure for staff.
The ability to redeploy one fleet across coal, biomass, ash and gypsum avoids building four fixed systems, so capital and maintenance effort are concentrated on a small, flexible asset base with strong payback.
Yes. Size for the denser coal case and the equipment also carries lighter biomass; sealed, dust-suppressed transfer keeps both streams clean and safe.
Low feeders with enclosed, scraped transfer points contain fine by-products and prevent fugitive emissions around the plant.
Yes. Where shore power exists inside the plant boundary, electric mobile conveyors cut emissions and noise at the point of handling.
Configurations from roughly 100 to 1200 t/h cover coal delivery, biomass co-firing and by-product transfer for most stations.
