A fertilizer port terminal in Southeast Asia adopted a SANTO radial telescopic stockpiler to build uniform export piles of granular fertilizer while keeping dust and product degradation under control.

Terminal Challenge

Fertilizer exports demand tight pile management: granules must not segregate or break down, and dust must stay within terminal limits. Fixed stackers could not follow the rotating berth plan.

The terminal wanted a single mobile machine that could both reach across a wide pad and retract to serve trucks and ships from one position.

SANTO Radial Telescopic Solution

SANTO deployed a radial telescopic stockpiler combining slewing and telescoping motion. The boom extends to fill piles evenly and retracts to minimise drop height, reducing granule impact and dust.

Variable belt speed and a centred feed keep the pile symmetrical, cutting segregation of different particle sizes common with fertilizer blends.

Operating Value

At up to 800 t/h the terminal keeps vessels on schedule while building reclaim-ready stockpiles. Lower drop height protects product quality and trims dust-suppression load.
